Professor Olinga Ta'Edd PhD FIoD

ACTING CHAIRMAN

Professor Olinga Ta’eed PhD FIoD is Council Member and Expert Advisor to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce’s “China E-Commerce Blockchain Committee” responsible for growth to US$ 100 trillion and maintaining its current 70% global market share. He is also Head of the EU PROCUREMENT FORUM Social Value & Transparency in Supply Chains group. He is Chief Editor of peer reviewed academic journal Frontiers in Blockchain with 453 editors, Social Value and Intangibles Review with 125 editors, and UK government sponsored Efficiency Exchange; in 2019 he will launch the peer reviewed industry journal The Token: Cryptocurrency, Value and Values with New York publisher Peter Lang. He is director of the not-for-profit Centre for Citizenship, Enterprise and Governance which is the world’s leading think tank on the movement of value (measurement, transaction and delivery) with over 125,000 members. He is Visiting Professor in Blockchain at Birmingham City University, and previously Professor in Social Enterprise and Northampton University. He conducted the UK’s first (and only) ICO in 2017 with FCA guidance, the Seratio Token focusing on Non-Financial Assets. He is currently preparing to launch the UK£ 210 million Seratio DTL Open Bank, regulated in London by PRA and FCA. He retired at the age of 48 in 2008 from a successful private sector career with 9000 staff.

BENARD ODOTE

Chief Executive Officer

Benard is the Group Managing Director House of Procurement and the Executive Director House Of Procurement Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda Limited. He has over 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management in industries such as Oil and Gas, Energy, Agriculture, FMCG, Manufacturing, Consulting, Service, ICT and Telecommunications.He has led various companies such as House of Procurement and Camusat East, Central and West Africa and was the Global Commodity Buyer for Fiber Optic for Camusat Group and has been in-charge of sourcing for all EABL manufacturing sites including KBL, UDV, CGI and EAML based in Kenya; Serengeti Brewery Sites in Tanzania (Mwanza, Moshi, Dar); and IDU and Uganda Breweries both in Uganda. He was also the Regional Strategic Buyer for Nestle’ Equatorial Africa where he looked after factories in DRC, Zimbabwe and Kenya.

Andre Smith

With a passion for embedding sustainability across all types of organisation, Nicholas has developed considerable experience in working with clients around application of circular economy thinking to develop new business models and adding value to their operations and wider value chains. As lead on project delivery with SusConnect he manages clients’ day-to-day needs and ensures tasks are completed to time and budget while exceeding quality expectations.
With over 13 years’ experience in the environmental sector, in both commercial and academic roles, Nicholas’ specialism is around circular economy business model development and applications, building on his earlier PhD work in this area. He has worked extensively with a range of clients from commercial, public sector, third sector, government departments and agencies (for example; with DEFRA, WRAP and the EA) as well as sector wide organisations such as the British Coffee Association, ALUPRO (Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation), Plastics Europe and a wide range of SME’s from multiple business sectors.

Dr TERRY TUDOR PhD

Terry Tudor is a director of SusConnect Ltd. In the past two years, he has led on stakeholder engagement for the onboarding of farmers and producers globally, including from Colombia, India, Peru and Brazil. He has over 13 years’ consultancy and academic experience in the area of sustainability and resource efficiency. He has worked on projects in the UK and abroad (e.g. for the UK Government and the EU Commission). He has worked in the UK, Italy and Barbados.

PROFESSOR. BITANGE NDEMO Ph.D.

Bitange Ndemo a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Nairobi’s Business School. His research centres on the link between ICTs and small and medium enterprises with emphasis on how ICTs influence economic development in Africa. Prof. Ndemo is the Chairman of Kenya’s Distributed Ledgers and Artificial Intelligence Taskforce that will develop a road map for the country’s digital transformation. He is also an advisor and Board member to several organizations including Safaricom one of the leadingtelecommunication company in Africa, MPESA Foundation, Research ICT Africa that is based in South Africa. Besides having been a Permanent Secretary of Kenya’s Ministry of Information and Communication where he was credited with facilitating many transformative ICT projects, he is a Senior Advisor to UN’s Global Pulse (Big Data initiatives) and the UNCDF’s Better than Cash Alliance. He is an Open Data/Big Data evangelist and dedicated to simplification (visualization) of data for ordinary citizens to consume. He writes two columns every week for the Business Daily and Nation on-line.

ELTON GREEVE

Elton Greeve, Managing Director of EMG Agri-Solutions, has 23 years’ experience in the agriculture sector. Greeve’s in-depth knowledge, expertise and partnerships with organised agriculture, farmers and stakeholders in the sector informs the methodology of the core business of EMG Agri-Solutions.
Greeve’s policy and project management experience in the area of development, agriculture and land reform policy and legislation, (agri)business and socio-economic development, enables him to provide a wholistic approach and service delivery portfolio for the sector.
Greeve has undertaken numerous international study tours to China, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Uruguay, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Uganda, Kenya & Tanzania, he adds international models and experience to the team. This experience is based on studying these countries land reform, agriculture, development and financing models for agriculture and development.
Greeve has a proven track record in youth development, socio-economic modelling, farming models, business practices and turnaround strategies for agriculture projects

BENJAMIN SHUTE FCIPS

Ben is the CEO of Comprara – his vision is to support clients to ‘gain more ground’. Comprara’s brands include Academy of Procurement, SkillsGAP Analysis and Purchasing Index. Ben leads the Comprara team who deliver services, tools, training and technologies to organisations in both the public and private sector. Every service accelerates clients efforts to deliver more with the same, or the same with less. Ben was rated in the top 35 of under 35’s by ‘Supply Management Magazine’ and ranked as one of UK’s rising stars (2005), Ben has held distinguished roles including Head of Sourcing Strategy for Ericsson in the UK and Head of Procurement Practice for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS). FAITH OBAFEMI

Faith Obafemi is a tech lawyer who specializes in blockchain, cryptocurrency and emerging technologies. Faith brings six years of legal expertise to help projects navigate the crypto-regulations and compliance maze. She does this through her consulting outfit: Future-Proof Intelligence (FINT). She and her team recently made contributions and recommendations to the Blockchain and DLT section of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Payment System Vision 2030. She is also the chairperson of a committee currently developing a national blockchain policy document for Nigeria.
As an aspiring legal engineer/technologist, she automates legal documents, integrated with smart contracts, on the OpenLaw, a platform built on the Ethereum blockchain. Faith is a Research Fellow at the African Academic Network on Internet Policy (AANOIP), where she makes in-depth research on the intricacies in blockchain and law. Faith is a Decentralized Justice Fellow with Kleros, a decentralized justice platform, where she is researching on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) on the blockchain and recommending Kleros as a dispute resolution layer.

REBECCA ASSEH

Rebecca Asseh is a blockchain and cryptocurrency writer. She also doubles as a tech writer and teaches about cryptocurrency in pidgin as a means of educating the masses about the 4th revolution.
In a bid to aid the understanding of crypto, she worked briefly as an On-Air Personality for CryptoRadio 24, teaching about cryptocurrency in pidgin.
She has written for crypto publications such as IoTgadgets, CoinGeek, Cryptocoremedia, Coinfomania, Todaysgazette and CryptoTVplus.
Currently, Rebecca spends her time investigating the benefits of blockchain and emerging technologies to Africa.

ANDREW SMALE Ph.D.

Andrew’s current focus is on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and related Data Science with sources such as IoT devices ingested into AWS AI/ML and analytics services. I also have certifications in Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT, a.k.a. Blockchain) and Graph Databases (Specifically Neo4j).
I have previously worked as an Enterprise Architecture Consultant (TOGAF 9 Certified) and also on Technical Architecture and Design for Rail Modernization in the UK, delivering a Common Portal for a wide range of UK Rail systems.

CHARLES KENNETH ROBERTSON

Charles K Robertson is an experienced property developer. The following are examples of the better-known projects which were established by companies where he was a director and a substantial shareholder, and with which he had an active involvement:
- The development of N1 City, with Syfrets/Nedbank: This is a commercial development of approximately 220 000 m², alongside the N1 Freeway in Cape Town. The N1 City development is worth more than R5 billion today.
- Western Province Park in Goodwood: This is a light industrial park adjacent to Grand West Casino in Cape Town, developed on approximately 25 hectares. This is worth more than R1billion today.
- Boschenmeer Golf Estate in Paarl: This 27-hole golf estate adjacent to the Berg River in Paarl, is built-up and worth more than R1 billion today.
- Myburgh Park in Langebaan: Myburgh Park is a village of more than 900 fully serviced erven, which was developed between Langebaan and the West Coast National Park for high net worth families. Most of the houses have been built, are all architect designed, and most of them have a sea view.

GAYATHIRI MURUGAMOORTHY

Gayathiri( Gaya) is currently involved with the Cryptochicks hatchery program to develop a blockchain-Ai solution to address customs clearance delays at the border and improve trade compliance. Her key contributions include conceptualization, user research, technical feasibility research and design thinking.
She is an AI enthusiast and a practitioner, where she is currently an active member of the Civic Lab- VoiceTech Global, a community that builds awareness on conversational AI and builds products of civic value where she is currently a Conversational AI specialist.
She has diverse experience of being in R&D, Technical Sales, Project Management and Customer Service in media(broadcast), Energy Management, Community development and Embedded Systems(Cable Testers) respectively over a span of 6 years.
She is well versed with Big Data technologies, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and interested in solving problems with the latest technologies.
She graduated as an Electronics and Communication Engineer from Anna University, Chennai, India. She then graduated Masters in Business Administration in International Business from University of Colombo and currently pursuing Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering focused on AI at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada.

JENNIFER TRAN

Jennifer Tran conceptualizes and develops blockchain applications in trade compliance and freight documentation as part of the CryptoChicks Hatchery Program. Customs Speed, the working title of the project, is a blockchain-AI solution to store and ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the freight customs documents.
Prior to winning two bounties and overall second place in the CryptoChicks Hackathon, Jennifer led operations for the Anheuser Busch account at C.H. Robinson, the largest third-party logistics provider in North America and fifth in the world. In addition, she supported the sales process and secured five deals in various verticals in their North American Surface Transportation division.
After working at C.H. Robinson, she further expanded her skills in development and joined a local consulting company as a software developer. She worked on production support and support business intelligence analytics for one of the largest travel co-ops in the world. She is well-versed in HTML/CSS, ColdFusion, Javascript, and MS SQL.
In addition to working on legacy systems at work, she pursues blockchain development as one of her core passions in professional development. She has participated in ETHBoston and won a remote pitch competition on a concept on a 3PL on the blockchain at ETHDenver. She also graduated from the Consensys Academy Blockchain Developer Bootcamp, focused on Ethereum development.
Jennifer is passionate about tech civic engagement. She leads Women in Coding and Code for Syracuse meetup groups in Syracuse and helps organize Hack Upstate, the largest hackathon in the Central New York region.
She graduated with Honors in Bachelors in Urban Studies, focusing on urban mobility and transportation, at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

KIHUMULO GRACE PATRICK

Kihumulo Grace Patrick is the Managing Partner of Grick Ltd and the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Enhancement at Kepler Rwanda, with over 8 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management in industries such as higher education, NGO, consulting and service. He also has several years of experience as a university educator, a students’ mentor and a supervisor of research projects. Prior to joining Kepler, he served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Lecturer of Procurement and Logistics at KIM University, where he supported in key areas of academic quality assurance, standards and accreditation and he has been able to manage both institutional and programme accreditation process in accordance with the established laws and standards set by the regulator. He is a member of three regional and international procurement professional bodies, namely the Association of Procurement Professional–Rwanda (APP-R), the Institute of Procurement Professional of Uganda (IPPU), and the CIPS (UK). He is also a founding member of the Rwanda Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (RWAQAN), currently serving as the first Chairperson of RWAQAN and the Vice President of the East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN). He has experience working in the East African countries, with extensive experience working in Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya.

RICHARD LAUB

Richard Laub started his career in the Operations and Supply Chain practice of Booz Allen and Hamilton in London, a leading international strategy consulting firm where he was the Partner in charge of their European Procurement practice by the time he left them. He left Booz Allen after 9 years to take responsibility for managing the transformation – over a three year period – of the indirect procurement organization of one of the largest global electronics companies in the world. He then took the leadership of Accenture’s European procurement practice for 5 years leading it to market share dominance in the procurement services space prior to creating Dragon Sourcing end of 2004, the premier procurement service provider in China. Throughout his nearly 20 years of consulting and operational experience, Richard has managed large international procurement programmes across a variety of industries (automotive, chemicals, FMCG, electronics, paper, financial services,…) and has developed deep skills in all drivers of procurement performance (organization design, technology, strategic sourcing, HR management, Low Cost Country sourcing,…). Richard holds a commercial engineering degree from Solvay Business School (Belgium) and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University (USA)

Born and educated in Jersey (Channel Islands, UK), Rob moved from London to Sydney in 1993 following 20 years in senior Supply Chain and Logistics roles at strategic and operational levels. He began building a reputation as a no-nonsense consultant who delivers results. He has a Master of Science in Logistics from Cranfield University.
Rob O’Byrne co-founded Logistics Bureau in 1997 as a result of his extensive experience in Supply Chain/Logistics and his passion for helping people improve their businesses.

Ava Morgan

Steve is a founder and Executive Director of Environment Systems Ltd, a global environmental and agricultural data company. He has over twenty-five years of experience in delivering solutions for environmental and agricultural challenges through the intelligent use of data and technology. Steve has specific expertise in the use of geospatial data and satellite remote sensing whilst working with governments, business and academia around the world. With a personal interest in all things map related, Steve is a Chartered Geographer (GIS) and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Professor Dr. Karsten Machholz has been appointed Professor for Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain Management by the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg- Schweinfurt in 2012. His areas of research are Digital Transformation, agile Risk management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Blockchain technology and its impacts on global supply chains. He has presented the results of his researches at various conferences in the US, Europe and Australia.
Dr. Machholz has gained more than 20 years of experiences in the chemical, strategic consulting and pharma sector, recently as Member of the Board of a biotech start-up in Switzerland

Rose is the CEO & Founder of Rova Digital Ltd, an award-winning digital house based in Nairobi, Kenya. Driven by the vision “an information-integrated world” Rova Digital delivers projects focused on connecting different information points on user-centric platforms using both the web and mobile technologies. Projects successfully developed include the SheTrades web and mobile platform – which is a platform connecting 3 Million women-owned businesses by 2021 as part of delivering on the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Rose received an MBA from the Missouri State University and has a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. She is passionate about using technology for impact.

Rose is currently leading Rova Digital in implementing a number of projects integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning and looking to integrate blockchain and cryptocurrency.
